Curtiss H-75A-2 No. 130 (U030), 2e Escadrille GC I/5, Georges Tesseraud, Rabat, 1942
Jedno z najbardziej charakterystycznych malowań francuskich Curtissów w służbie sił Vichy. 9 listopada 1942 roku, podczas operacji „Torch”, samolot Georgesa Tesserauda wziął udział w walce z amerykańskimi F4F-4 Wildcat z VF-9. Najprawdopodobniej został zaatakowany z góry przez Ens. Louisa A. Menarda. Ostrzał trafił okolice kabiny i tylną część kadłuba, ciężko raniąc francuskiego pilota. Tesseraud zdołał jednak wyprowadzić uszkodzony samolot z walki i awaryjnie wylądować w pobliżu Bouhat.
P. Virtalahti. Fińskie Hawki były intensywnie wykorzystywane bojowo na froncie wschodnim.
Curtiss H-75A-2 No. 140 (U040), „1”, 3e Escadrille, 2e Groupe CIC Chartres, wiosna 1940
Samolot używany w ośrodku szkolenia myśliwskiego CIC w Chartres. Na No. 140 latali także czechosłowaccy piloci przygotowywani we Francji do służby bojowej, wśród nich Alois Vašátko, późniejszy czołowy czechosłowacki as kampanii francuskiej. W maju 1940 roku maszyna została przekazana do jednostki bojowej GC II/5.
The Curtiss P-36 Hawk is an American, single-engine, low-wing fighter aircraft with an all-metal structure and a conventional tail configuration. The prototype’s maiden flight took place on May 13, 1935, and mass production began three years later. The P-36 failed to live up to the USAAC’s expectations and was significantly outperformed by the P-39 and P-40. As a result, the aircraft were assigned to training units and exported. France turned out to be the main recipient, receiving nearly 300 aircraft of this type by June 1940! In French service, the aircraft was designated the Hawk 75. Aircraft that had not yet been delivered to France from the U.S. or that had fled to Great Britain were taken over by the RAF and served under the codename Mohawk. The P-36 also saw action over Pearl Harbor and on the Eastern Front, as an aircraft supplied to the USSR under the Lend-Lease Act. Technical specifications (P-36 version): length: 8.7 m, wingspan: 11.4 m, height: 2.6 m, maximum speed: 486 km/h, maximum range: 970 km, service ceiling: 10,000 m, armament: fixed—2 FN Browning 7.5 mm machine guns
